"The House Arts Caucus is co-chaired by Rep. Louise Slaughter (D-NY) and Rep. Todd Platts (R-PA). This body serves as the first line of defense for cultural interests when there is arts-related legislative action. Members of the Congressional Arts Caucus participate in press conferences in support of the arts, testify before key committees, speak on the House floor about the positive educational and economic impact of the arts, receive regular research briefings, and participate in Arts Advocacy Day, an annual event. The two Members from Iowa currently are: Leonard Boswell and Dave Loebsack.

The Senate Cultural Caucus is much less active than the House Caucus. It is co-chaired by Senator Mike Enzi (R-WY) and Senator Barbara Mikulski (D-MD). Currently neither of the Iowa Senators are members of the Caucus."
